Special Exhibition

What Do I Sound Like?

Date & Time

Open Day: 28th Of October 2026
11:00 - 18:00

Location

Unit 9, 37 Boutport Street, Barnstaple

An audio visual interactive installation that reads your fingerprint to create a sound only you could make, your heartbeat sets the rhythm, your movement shapes it. No skill needed, just your presence, giving voice to those who don't have one.

Funded by Immersive Arts UK, accessibility is at the heart of this installation. For almost a decade I've worked as an interactive sound designer with Tin Arts and We Are Epic, building systems with dancers with disabilities, and this piece grew out of that. You don't need any musical experience, and you don't need to speak, read or play an instrument. Small movements count just as much as big ones.

Drop in anytime. Accessible and suitable for everyone.

Please get in touch if you have any access needs.

Projects

What Do I Sound Like?

In 2026, Liina received funding from Immersive Arts UK for her most ambitious project yet. What Do I Sound Like? is an interactive installation that reads your fingerprint to shape a sound only you could make. Your heartbeat sets the rhythm and your movement composes the music. The work brings together her commitment to accessibility with her own evolving artistry as a musician.

Interactive Audio for Disabled Dancers

In 2024, Liina was awarded funding from Arts Council England to explore interactive audio and sound design for disabled dancers. The project looked at how sound can respond to movement, giving dancers new ways to shape and interact with music through their bodies. It built on her years of work bringing creative technology into inclusive dance.

Sonic Moves

In 2025, a British Council grant took Liina to Bali for a residency called Sonic Moves. She worked alongside We Are Epic and a multicultural group of disabled dancers, creating sound and movement together across cultures. During the residency she also pioneered immersive technology work with Deaf performers, opening up new ways to experience sound beyond hearing.

Working With Tin Arts

For many years, LNA has worked with Tin Arts as an interactive sound designer and composer. Her collaborations with the company include Helm (2019), Got Your Nose (2021), and Chance (2025). Working closely with dancers, she creates sound that responds to and moves with the body.
